Many of Maria's gifts were either from our church run thrift store or homemade. I think we only bought one brand new item for Maria and 2 for Anna. Here are a few of the gifts I made, some not for the girls, but wanted to show them too.
One of my best friends had a beautiful preemie girl several weeks ago, and I wanted to make something to welcome her. So I made three preemie size hats. The pink one out of an outfit that I didn't like how it fit Anna, but liked the fabric, the purple one out of a shirt that I no longer wore, and the yellow was some knit fabric that had been waiting to be made into something so cute!
Here is a close up of the hats, they fit Maria's dolls, so when Gabrielle outgrows them, she can use them for her dolls.
I also made some very tiny slippers, I actually fear I shrunk the pattern too much, but again they can work for dolls!
I made a crown and superhero cape for our nephew, Maria chose the lightening bolt design.
Maria is modeling the hat and bandana, plus the hobby horse I made. YeeHaw!
He was actually pretty easy to make, once I found some fabric, which was a corduroy dress at the thrift store, cost me all of $1.50. I did add some jingle bells on each side after I took the picture. I found a great tutorial on ehow.com that I followed.
I printed out some pictures and glued them on cardboard, then covered them with Mod Podge to make tracing cards for Maria.

A band...Maria kept saying she wanted a piano, violin, trumpet, and drums for Christmas. Well, she got a keyboard from my parents(it was mine when I was younger). I made her some drums, some maraca shakers, tambourine type instruments,jingle bell bracelets, rhythm sticks, and castanets. Now let's hope I don't regret this decision.
