our nephew Trey, 11 years old, I can hardly believe it. He stayed overnight with us last weekend.
We spent some time at the Epworth Forest camp beach. The girls were so much more comfortable in the water. We love our Puddle Jumper floaties they have.
I think Trey was going to come and surprise Maria...
but then she turned around!
haha, escaped!
waiting for the Lake Webster fireworks...eating a little popcorn.
She said she was trying to catch the fireworks. She also kept saying she didn't like them and that they were too loud, but notice the ear protection, courtesy of Trey, which are just lying in her lap. I think she was one sleepy 3 year old, since we didn't get to bed till 11pm.
Maria seemed to enjoy them, but stole the ear protection later and said the fireworks were putting her to sleep!
We went to grandma and grandpa's house the next day to meet Aunt Michele to puck up Trey and drop Maria for a couple days of VBS at their church. Here is Maria helping grandma dig up potatoes.
looking at the roots
Anna helping(?) daddy with the onions.
more potatoes
We went to the Purdue campus, where grandpa works at the library. He will retire next year after 36 years there, so wanted the girls to see where he works. We spent some time playing in the fountains.
it was a nice relief from the heat.
cold!
We have plenty to praise God for; spending time with our family.

on the road again
Yes, we had a very full, long weekend. After heading back to Culver Saturday night with Trey, we got up went to church and got right back on the road Sunday to head to cousin Joshua's 3rd birthday party. Trey had been at Grandma and Grandpa's all week and was picked up by his mom and dad at the party. Maria loved having him to play with and share her room Saturday night. Anna learned to say his name, so she must have loved it just as much.
Maria always loves playing with Joshua too!

cousins
Trey, our nephew, had fall break today and tomorrow. Since Larry happens to have a meeting down where he lives on Tuesday morning and was planning to stay at their place tonight, it worked out that Trey stay over with us last night and we would take him home tonight.
Maria just absolutely adores Trey. He likes her alot too, but she is a 2 year old girl and he is an 8 year old boy, so there is a bit of difference in interest there sometimes. However, they had a blast at the playground yesterday afternoon. They were running around having so much fun, which led to some good sleep last night too!
Here are some pictures from the afternoon of playing.
Doesn't he look like a model up there posing?
Climbing up the slide.
Maria trying to be like big cousin Trey and climb up too.
The big scary slide
Maria "helping" Trey!
Playing in the sandbox, earlier in the day.
And after all that play, one needs an apple to regain energy!
We have plenty to praise God for; friends who are cousins.
