Maria's Dedication (September 9)

A very special day to share with family and friends. We had many family come to celebrate with us. Mike and Reed came from Ohio to do the service. Mike and Larry met in seminary and were good friends. Mike and Reed are expecting their first child in four weeks. It was wonderful that they could take part in this special event in Maria's life. We also had the Unger and Saunders grandparents, Aunt Michele, Uncle Ryan and Aunt Lisa (who we chose as Godparents), Uncle Andrew and Aunt Therese, Uncle Justin and Aunt Emily and cousin Joshua. It was a great day!

We have plenty to praise God for; His salvation!

Firsts...

Maria's first swing ride...she loved it!

Maria's first time in the exersaucer...she loved it!

Maria's first drink from a cup...okay, she really just wanted to chew on the cup,
but she loved that too!

We have plenty to praise God for; a plethora of firsts to experience with Maria

A few events in August...

8/2 Here is a video of Maria's first giggle...sorry for those with dial-up like us, it will take a while to load...but it is very cute!

8/3 Dad and I like to hang out together
contemplating life's deep issues.
8/3 I love bath time!

8/6 Oh, yes I'm cute.

8/14 How could you not LOVE me?

8/17 Mindy and Katie came to see my mom
(really, you know they came to see me!)

8/21 Oh, how I love talking to my elephant friend!

8/24 My first swim at Aunt Michele and Uncle Jeff's with Cousin Trey.
I'm not quite sure about the cold water.

We have plenty to praise God for; a wonderfully warm summer to be outside and enjoy His creation.

8/17 Hey, I figured out how to make some loud noise, what fun!

8/18 Yes, I know I just rolled Mom, but I really don't want to do it again!

A review of July in pictures

Blue Eyes!

Maria,

You are becoming quite the social girl these days. You are "talking" so much and smiling at everything. Today you were so well behaved when we visited the Crane family. In the evening you were content to sit in you bouncy seat while I made dinner and we ate, you even fell asleep after dinner for a few minutes. After a walk to the park and a feeding, we put you to bed. You opened your eyes, looked up at me and I gave you a kiss. You didn't make a sound except to start sucking on your hand. You have been soothing yourself quite well with those fingers of yours and sleeping such long stretches; sometimes up to 11 hours. It is amazing to watch you change each day.

I am having fun learning how to squeal!

Ah, found my thumb!

Dad and I like to read the same things!

We took a vacation to Lake Wawasee with the Saunders family.

I enjoyed my first slide with Dad.

I like talking to my friends... (sorry, couldn't get it to rotate once I uploaded it!)

We have plenty to praise God for; a growing, changing daughter that is very content and sleeps so well.

A review of June in pictures

Some pictures of June events...

All smiles 6/4

Yes, I fell asleep by the dryer while mom
was working...I like the sound! 6/13

We made a visit to Grandma and Grandpa's. I got to meet my two uncles and aunts and my great grandparents. 6/15
Great Grandma and Grandpa Ringenberg Great Grandma Unger
Uncle Ryan Aunt Lisa Uncle Andrew

6/16 Four generations...all thirty years apart. Grandma had Mom when she was thirty, Mom had me when she was thirty, and I had Maria when I was thirty...(only 4 days until I turned 31 though! We just barely made the deadline.)
6/21 We went to meet new cousin, Joshua, born on June 12, and to see Great Nana Saunders. Gosh, Joshua sure makes Maria look like a baldy!

6/24 What a happy baby...

6/28 We were up at church camp to visit our youth one night the same week that "Aunt" Katie was there so we made a surprise visit to her.
We have plenty to priase God for; an extended family that we love.
