is that your best move?

Don't you just love the way babies dance...if only we could use these dance moves later in life and have people think we were so cute!  One can hope!

off she goes

cousin time

playing well together

of course Maria got Aunt Lisa to read to her!
going in for a smooch
contact!

there was lots of smooching going on between these two today!
the progression of a photo...2 out of three.

half-yawn/peek-a-boo/looking off somewhere
almost...rubbing eyes and watching her rub her eyes!
being silly and watching him be silly...okay, I give up!
"what's up with all the pictures...should we give her one good shot?"
"why not?"
Uncle Ryan looks like a giant compared to Anna...she was being brave and handing him a toy.  She actually did pretty well letting him hold her a couple of times.

We had a great time having them over for dinner and spending the afternoon with them.
We have plenty to praise God for; family!

in the blink of an eye

Yep, don't turn your back for a second or she may be already at the top.

before/after

The cushions on the wicker set I got off of Craigslist leaved something to be desired...
So, a bit of sewing from some extra fabric my mom had from a project she did for my brother and his wife, along with some cheap vintage fabric I got to make curtains in the kitchen...much better!

We got our new carpet in the remnant section at Menards and then had a guy install it for a very good price.  We did the tear out ourselves, which saved a bit more.  The remnants happened to be an extra 30% off the day we were there and they had 3 that were similar in style, but since they don't meet, we figured they didn't have to match exactly.  The living room is actually two pieces of the same carpet, which luckily came from a similar enough dye lot that the seam is invisible.
The frames I got free from a garage sale, just needed a bit of TLC and some white paint. The S was a Kohl's sale item, the shelves were something I already had.  The cute little desk was actually a garage sale find my mom got, but it was the childhood desk of my 1st grade teacher Mrs. Farmer...how special, especially since she is the one who inspired me to become a teacher!

The girls room still needs some wall decor...but, it's getting there!

everybody dance

The girls don't really care to dance at all as you can tell...and what is up with Maria and her moves? She really likes to dance in front of the TV like it is a mirror for her to watch herself dance. Anna has this hip thing going on really well.
We have plenty to praise God for; free entertainment!

on the lake

Grandpa brought his boat up and we were able to take a nice ride around the lake.  Thanks Dad!

splashin

The girls and I went to the Columbia City Splash Pad before heading up to the lake place.  At first the water was a wee bit col for their taste, but soon enough they were enjoying the water!
Maria was telling this little girl that she has the same suit at home...later she told me "I told her that I have the same suit, but she just walked away."
excitement over the water!
our walking girl

apparently the water fountain is a big hit!

her favorite one
periodically they turn off...she was waiting for it to come on again.

more of what?

Anna has figured out a few signs, but since she is saying so many words, I don't expect we will need to teach her too many, but when she signs "more" it usually doesn't make any sense to us what she is trying to ask for more of.
We have plenty to praise God for; a means of communication for all.
